So my internship has finally come to an end. I was waiting for this day to be honest :)
The only sucky part of this intern is the commute, rest everything was fine i guess.
We had our first presentation on Wednesday and it went really well. We all got offered and recommended for next semester. All our managers and deputy managers liked it, they provided some excellent feedback and comments (No, i am not gloating!) We kinda worked our ass off for this presentation. Well anyway, i dont care anymore :P its finished and over with and im happy its over. :P Our next presentation is on Aug 7 and then if we win that we get to present to the Executives (LM VP level) on Aug 11. I really dont care if we win or not :P actually we have 90% chances of winning apparently because the other teams aren't doing much. I just dont want to go through these presentations!!
It just amazes me how people get hired to these firms not knowing a thing about a simple PC config. I mean come on, i feel bad for those people out there who actually have the real talent and are desperate for a job just so they can bring enough food to their table. And here you are sitting your snobby ass on a chair for 8 some hours not knowing a damn thing about your field and you get paid more than what an average person needs! Haha.. life isn't fair is it :P No offense to anyone, its not directed towards anyone but just a thought in general.
Anyway, ciao! I probably wont be updating this blog anymore :D

Week 9
Yay! only 2 more weeks to go :) well actually only 8 business days.
I'm almost done with my project work, just have to give some finishing touches. Theres one more assignment left, so im kinda putting that off for a bit and working on our executive presentations.
So we're filming a documentary (i think i've mentioned earlier) , we did some filming today with our deputy project manager and our individual clips would be filmed sometime tomorrow or the day after. I'm going to look like a dork acting because its a silent movie, we don't talk. "The Office" theme music will be played in the background. We have to get this video/presentation done by COB Aug 1 and I'm out! I dont have to come in to work but i'll still get paid for presentation days. :D
This whole intern experience just confirmed one thing about myself that I knew before and now im sure :P .. details undisclosed :)

Week 6
4 more weeks to go!! hey bhagwan, bachaooo! Thank god, this is only a 4 day work-week. We have friday off because its their independence day. I get to sleep in, yay!
Work is okay, I've been getting exposed to the industry more now and learning new things. We have meetings almost everyday and some days it just gets so boring because I finish my work early and just stay here even though i dont have to but thats fine i guess for a change. I had a sudden demo to present last week to another task order member, its just demonstrating the tool that we have and educating others in it. I knew what i was doing, but i just wasnt prepared well enough (documenting and paperwork) because it was all of sudden :P Haha, well that's no excuse anyway. Mid-Review Evaluation is next week, crossing my fingers :P

Week 4
Well, my work is starting to pick up right now. My manager expects a lot from me, and it scares me! what if i wont be able to meet his expectations and end up with a crap evaluation that would ruin my transcript. Well, I doubt that would happen because hes pretty nice. I had left early yesterday and he was totally cool and flexible with it.
As far as my VPN goes, I got everything set up at home but when i sit down and try to remotely access my computer at work.. guess what? I cant! So I had a to talk with the net ops again and I wonder how long its going to take them now, hopefully not that long. It would make life so much easier if i would be able to work from home!! ahhh, i really hate the commute here, i dont mind the work but its just a long and boring travel. And when I'm alone, my mind gets haunted.
We had an intern meeting thing with all our intern mates for our presentation at the end of the internship. We're suppose to be "creative" in our presentations, we're going to compete with other buisiness groups so the best one would present in front of the executives. Now, when was the last time I was creative. haha! Last year interns had "the apprentice" theme to their presentation, featuring interns and a guy who looks like Donald Trump, so they won. And this year, we decided on making a documentary of a natural disaster theme, where theres a natural disaster of some sort and we'd all be underground working and our work would actually help the effects. So I need my acting skills with me now! :P We're working for the EPA so we cant do a millitary war theme(initial idea), although seems kinda nice. Anyway, lets see how it goes.
On the other hand, whats with bollywood junta blogging?? :P First Aamir, then Big B, then sallu, now who's next?? I'm eagerly waiting for Aamir's remake Ghajini, i think its realising in oct and background score to be done by AR Rahman! (i think)

Bored!!!!
I am so bored!!!
My manager is out of the office today and tommorow so i guess my work is pending. Im trying to work/study but i cant concentrate..hmm.
My printer works now, mapping finally worked so thats a good thing. And i cant install anything on this PC, i dont have any privileges. So every time i want to install something, i have to call the admin and he shows up 8 hrs later(after i leave) hence the pending work.
That reminds me of my demo yesterday; it went ok.. it was only 15 minutes. Lol. what do you expect anyway.
I'm hungry and the microwave is broken, so im living on 50-50 biscuits for the day.
I wana watch Bujjigadu..Made in Chennai :P

Summer 08 beginnings
I really don't know why I started this blog, every time I start a blog i think to myself "oh yea, i shall update this constantly" and guess what? I really don't post that much :P well, anyway i guess you saw that coming yea.
At the beginning of Fall 07, I had no interest in an internship whatsoever. I thought i would've probably ended up taking summer classes and get this engineering over with and live a peace life :P but after some consideration of few things and motivation I decided to go ahead and apply for a few so I took a shot at it and didn't really expect this outcome. So I went on and applied for a few companies, hifunda, not so hifunda and medicore ones. One fine morning I get a call from Lockheed Martin for an interview. So I accepted the offer, there were 3 people that interviewed me - all hifunda people (one from nasa, one from Lockheed, and one from the DOD (department of defense)). I really wanted the NASA intern position because it was more of what I am interested in and my major related but ob I didnt get that and ended up with one for the ITS-ESE dept at lmco which is also pretty cool. For the first time ever, i have an intern and i hit a jackpot so i consider myself lucky at that moment! I still can't believe it, but yeah it happened. Credit goes to some people :) And now for the biggy, I have been given a huge opportunity to what do they call it 'explore myself' and I have to do just that.. "explore myself" :P . Is this what i really want to do? :P Even if its not what i want to do, you sometimes have to!! I probably wont continue to intern there unless i am transferred to actual hardware :P but yea lets see how this goes. So far i am just tp-ing max, but aage meri vaat lagne wali hai for sure. I have to give a demo on Monday already. My manager and mentor are pretty nice people. I am finding out new scary things about this intern everyday :P Its a 2 month challenge, need to face it!
My cubicle look so empty, need to do something with it. Any suggestions? Blah, never mind its only 2 months :P
